Safety Guidelines

Read this Safety Notice and these Safety Guidelines in full before operating or developing with the BXI Elf3.

I. Safety Notice

  1. Familiarize yourself with the product: Before operating the robot for the first time, thoroughly review all relevant documentation to fully understand its functional parameters, operating procedures, range limitations, and safety precautions.
  2. Operating environment requirements: Place the robot on a flat, dry, stable, and unobstructed surface. Do NOT operate it in any of the following environments: temperatures above or below the product's rated range, humid or dusty areas, surfaces with excessive slope, significant elevation changes, ground prone to collapse or slipping, fragile load-bearing surfaces, or areas with strong vibration.
  3. Regular maintenance: Check the robot's condition regularly, focusing on critical components such as joint motors, sensors, and the power system. If you detect aging, loosening, damage, or abnormal operation of any component, shut down the robot immediately for repair or replacement. Operating the equipment with known faults is strictly prohibited.
  4. Master the emergency stop: Before use, confirm and familiarize yourself with how to activate the emergency stop so that you can halt the robot quickly in an emergency. When the emergency stop is triggered, all joints lose support and the robot collapses to the ground. Pay special attention to site safety and use a protective frame throughout the period after an emergency stop. Do not activate the emergency stop unless absolutely necessary.
  5. Maintain a safe operating area: During operation, keep adequate clearance around the robot (recommended radius greater than 6.5 ft / approx. 2 m). Keep a safe distance from walls, fixed obstacles, people, and valuable items, and avoid narrow enclosed spaces, high-traffic areas, and cluttered zones to reduce the risk of collision, pinching, and scraping.
  6. Electrical safety: Before powering on, carefully inspect power cables, plugs, outlets, and the equipment's power interfaces to ensure they are intact, with no damage, short circuits, or loose connections. If during operation the robot shows abnormal heating, hot cables, unusual odors, or strange sounds, disconnect the main power supply immediately. Restart the equipment only after the cause has been identified and resolved.
  7. Avoid improper use: Use the robot only for compliant and reasonable applications. Do not deploy it for dangerous, non-compliant, or legally prohibited purposes.

II. Safety Guidelines

1. Pre-Operation Inspection

  • Before powering on or executing motion commands, clear the work area of all unauthorized personnel, debris, and obstacles. Pay special attention to the areas around the arms, moving joints, and end effectors to ensure there is no interference or obstruction, preventing collisions, personal injury, or equipment damage during operation.
  • Before starting the equipment, verify the robot's status and confirm that all power-on self-check procedures have completed successfully with no fault or error messages.

2. Operating Procedures and Training

All operators must receive the necessary training in advance and become familiar with the robot's usage specifications, operating methods, and emergency response procedures, to reduce safety risks caused by improper operation.

3. Maintain a Safe Distance

Do not manually interfere with the robot's movements while it is operating. All personnel must stay at least 3 ft (approx. 1 m) from the robot's operating area. When the robot performs rapid movements or heavy-load operations, no one may remain within the equipment's projected motion path. Do not observe at close range or reach out to touch moving parts.

Before adjusting, servicing, or manually handling the robot, first make sure the robot has completely stopped and is powered off.

4. Rated Load and Accessory Use

  • Operate the robot within its rated load capacity. Do not perform operations that exceed its design capabilities.
  • When using end effectors, gripping mechanisms, or other functional components, make sure they are compatible with the target objects, to avoid additional compression, abnormal stress, or component damage caused by incompatibility.

5. Emergency Response Procedures

If the robot shows stuttering, abnormal movements, loss of control, unusual sounds or odors, system errors, or any other sudden hazardous condition, immediately execute the emergency stop from the remote controller to stop the equipment as quickly as possible.

6. Remote Control Safety Guidelines

  • If the robot has or is using remote control functionality, operate it over a reliable and secure network whenever possible, to avoid unstable control caused by network interruption, latency, or external intrusion.
  • During remote control operations, operators must be able to monitor in real time, continuously tracking the robot's operating status and on-site conditions, to improve the safety of remote operation.

III. Disclaimer

  1. Any personal injury, equipment damage, property loss, or other safety incident resulting from violation of this Safety Notice and these Safety Guidelines shall be the full responsibility of the liable party.
  2. These safety specifications will be revised as needed in line with product upgrades, expanded use scenarios, and regulatory updates.
