Getting Started
Getting Started
Install and update Wuji CLI, verify device connection, and set up shell completions
Prerequisites
- Linux: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS or later, on x86_64 or arm64
- Devices on the same local network (UDP) or connected via USB
Installation
On Linux (including WSL), use the install script (recommended):
Linux
curl -fsSL https://get.wuji.tech/cli | bash Alternatively, download the Linux package from Releases: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu or aarch64-unknown-linux-gnu. Extract the package and place wuji in a directory on your PATH.
Verification
Run wuji devices and confirm your device shows up:
$ wuji devices
found 1 device(s)

💡 run `wuji ping` to get device type and firmware version If the list is empty, check that the device is powered on and on the same network segment as your host.
Update the CLI
wuji update # Download and install the latest release
wuji update --check # Check for updates without installing
wuji update --skills # Sync Wuji CLI skills only, without updating the binary wuji update --check shows the current version, the latest version, and the skills status. When an update is available, the output includes the release notes of the latest version.
wuji update installs the latest release and syncs the installed skills. A machine that skipped skills during CLI installation can install them with wuji update --skills.
wuji update --skills syncs skills to the current CLI version.
The CLI also checks for new releases in the background, at most once every 24 hours, and shows a notice when an update is available. The check never blocks or slows down your commands. Set WUJI_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1 to turn the notice off.
Set up Shell Completions (Optional)
Once set up, press Tab while typing a wuji command to auto-complete subcommands and flags — no need to remember exact spellings. For bash:
mkdir -p ~/.local/share/bash-completion/completions
wuji completions bash > ~/.local/share/bash-completion/completions/wuji
exec bash # takes effect in the current session For zsh, fish, powershell, or elvish, substitute the shell name in the command above. See wuji completions --help for details.
Install AI Skills (Optional)
Install Wuji CLI skills for AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, so an AI Agent can operate devices directly:
npx --yes skills add wuji-technology/wuji-cli -g Alternatively, use the install script:
curl -fsSL https://get.wuji.tech/skills | bash Skills available after installation:
| Skill | Purpose |
|---|---|
wuji-cli-base | Scan devices, ping connectivity, read and write parameters, and subscribe to live data |
wuji-cli-calib | Guide Wuji Glove hand model calibration and tactile calibration |
wuji-cli-doctor | Run device health self-checks for EMF disconnects and tactile sensor dead pixels |
wuji-cli-logs | Export, inspect, and locate device logs, and build support bundles |
wuji-cli-support | Guide troubleshooting and produce a support report to send to HumansX support (authorized distributor in Japan) |
wuji-cli-upgrade | Check for firmware updates, then upgrade, downgrade, or flash a specific package |
wuji-cli-user | Manage SDK user profiles and export or import calibration bundles |
wuji-cli-viz | Visualize live hand pose and tactile data in the Rerun Web Viewer |
An AI Agent can read and write parameters and control devices directly. Confirm what the agent does before it runs, especially writes, firmware upgrades, and other actions that change device state, so a misstep doesn’t damage your hardware.
